The Bible is the foundation of both the Christian and Jewish faiths. Christians, like me, trust that the Bible is accurate and reveals the absolute truth of God. When we read it, we see how God has moved throughout history to reveal Himself. Through its pages, we encounter Jesus as the one true Savior of humanity. By following Jesus and worshiping Him “in spirit and truth” (John 4:24), not only are our lives transformed, but we also impact those around us.
But should we believe that the Bible truly reveals the one true God in His glory? Yes! Here’s one more reason we can accept the truth of the bible:
Recently, a debate took place between Wesley Huff, a Christian defender of the Bible (click here for website), and Billy Carson, who claims to be one of the world’s leading experts in ancient manuscripts, including the Bible. However, by all accounts, Carson was exposed as a "non-expert" who is uninformed about the texts he critiques. The debate, which is just over two hours long, has been summarized in a concise and insightful analysis available by clicking here.
If you visit Wesley Huff’s website or the organization he works with, Apologetics Canada (click here for that website ), you’ll find numerous resources to deepen your knowledge of the Bible. These resources help us understand why we can trust the Bible as the truth and equip us to defend the Christian faith and the Bible itself.
For example, Wesley has produced a video on YouTube detailing how an analysis of the names in the New Testament aligns with the time and place in which it was written as opposed to other documents which are shown to be written long after the time of Jesus. This evidence further supports the Bible’s accuracy in recounting the life and deeds of Jesus. You can watch it here. (Yes, there are a lot of links in this post).
I encourage you to explore these videos—they’ll inspire and equip you as you grow in your faith.
