Attending a high school reunion this summer, I reunited with an old classmate.
He brought up a memory which I had forgotten. We would all get in a car, ride down a city street beeping our horn at people walking down the sidewalk. They would turn to wave and we all would wave in the opposite direction across the street.
Sometimes there wasn't a soul on the other side of the street. It was a car filled with teenage pranksters riding the waves and waiting for the next wave, "A FALSE WAVE"
Have you ever been in a store, someone you don't know is waving at you with a smile, you lift your hand profusely only to find out they were waving at the person behind you .Driving down the highway many times, we will see someone raise their hand in a car in the oncoming lane, we immediately raise ours to wave back, only to find out they were just fixing their hair or talking with their hands to the other person in their vehicle. Occasionally it's someone just airing their hand in the wind the whole time passing by them, it's usually a heat wave on the airwaves. The whole situation was considered a false alarm and we pull our hand down quickly with feelings of embarrassment and a shot to the ego. Why does someone else have to wave first before you can wave? Shouldn't we all be ready and willing to greet anyone who comes across our path? A friendly wave never hurts anyone at all.
Many times I pass by someone, and they are waving fiercely, I pass by them and think "who the heck was that?" I used to recognize every type of car and associate it with someone, but now I don't even recognize the different types of cars. If we think we know who it is but are not sure, we will give a short wave, a small one, you know a microwave. Funny how we seem to measure the wavelength. On rare occasions we will get a finger wave which is usually okay depending on what finger they are using. My school bus driver would only lift his pinky finger on the steering wheel to wave to anyone, I guess he took two hands on the steering wheel seriously.
When it comes to our relationship with God, many times our wave is wavering. When bad times come in waves and he's not waving the magic wand we seem to be
wanting to be waving goodbye. Satan moves in with false pretenses to wave away your faith. He then gives you false information to create false-heartedness. So, Satan" let go of my ego"! Thankfully God's love is unwavering. and you can overpower Satan by just raising your holy hands and waving to Him. He knows the answer to every true or false question. So maybe it's time to wave a white flag and surrender for a reunion. Like a marshaller on the runway, He's waving you in. Maybe it's time to sign a waiver, to be the first one to wave to others which isn't so hard to do, because the bible says you should greet everyone with a holy kiss which takes a little more effort. So put yourself on a float in the parade and wave directly at everyone without being a prankster with "A FALSE WAVE ".
